Recent Grants

When our donors give unrestricted gifts, they allow the Foundation's trustees to determine how their gifts can best serve the community from year to year as needs and programs change. The earnings from these gifts are distributed through our Discretionary Grants Program. This program allowed us to award nearly $65,000 during our most recent grant cycle:

Cannelton Public Library
$4,196 to purchase computer equipment and security software

Cannelton Public Schools
$700 to support the Learning to Give-The League philanthropy program

City of Tell City
$14,016 for the RiverWalk beautification and recreation project

City of Tell City
$550 for the development of a floodwall historical mural

Evansville Philharmonic Orchestra
$200 for Perry County third- through fifth-grade students to participate in the youth concerts program

Perry Central Community School Corporation
$3,850 to support "The Anchor" school store used in marketing classes to help students develop entrepreneurial skills

Perry Central Community School Corporation
$2,500 to support an early intervention reading program for Perry Central students with special learning needs

Perry Central Community School Corporation
$1,000 to support the Learning To Give–The League philanthropy program

Perry County Animal Shelter
$188 to purchase equipment for the shelter

Perry County Circuit Court
$7,000 to support random breath/alcohol testing for individuals on active probation

Perrry County Circuit Court
$7,000 to support the substance abuse court's counseling services and drug testing of nonviolent offenders

Perry County Learning Partnership
$3,200 to leverage a grant from the Office of Community and Rural Affairs that will expand the Skills Manufacturing Program, implement the Customer Service Skills Program, and provide opportunities for educators and employers to discuss the skills students need to possess upon graduation to meet the needs of area employers

Perry County Parks and Recreation Department
$11,430 to purchase picnic shelters, tables, and concrete slabs for Eagles Bluff Park

Perry County Red Cross
$1,000 to provide emergency preparedness training

Sonshine Early Learning Ministry
$1,055 for renovation of infant and toddler classrooms

Tell City–Troy Township School Corporation
$1,000 to support the Learning To Give–The League philanthropy program

United Way of Perry County
$3,000 to support the Perry County Food Coalition's efforts to relocate the Cannelton Food Pantry

Widow's Barrel Food Pantry
$4,000 to support the backpack food program for school children in need
