Brenner FundFlorence Brenner, who is most often known as Peg, came to Tell City with her husband Howard, who was President of Tell City National Bank at the time and a native of Tell City.
Peg was a sincerely community-minded person. She was very active in philanthropic ventures with St. Paul’s Catholic Church, a member of Tri Kappa and very supportive of many other community organizations. People that know her often describe her as a "real lady" and an asset to the community.
She was a kind, gentle, and caring person who loved to read. Peg frequented the Tell City-Perry County Public Library. The library gave her so much and provided for her love of reading. She also thought it was well-ran and an asset to the community.
In 1996, Peg decided to set up a fund in the Community Foundation to help support the library….forever. She knew the fund that she was able to create would only provide a little bit of help to the library, but that help would be every year.
Peg has since moved closer to her children and resides in Louisville, Kentucky.
